Trail Impact Study

Our team has partnered with Dillon Osleger of the Sage Trail Alliance to do a Trail Impact Study for two of our North American UTMB Races: 2022 Speedgoat Mountain Races by UTMB and 2023 Grindstone Trail Running Festival by UTMB.

The studies looked at the quantifying impacts of recreational users on trails. In both instances, the studies found that, even in wet conditions, a trail race did not significantly impact/damage the trails.

We strongly believe in maintaining the integrity of our trails and taking care of them throughout the year. The trails give so much opportunity to us, and we want to ensure they are lasting without harm!
